Chapter 3: "Alright, Who's Got The Dead Fish?"

Judging from the ice cold feeling that greets your fingers pressed to the body's neck, he's been dead for a while. It's hard to tell what killed him, though you think it's a *him* judging from the short black hair that you can see. His face is turned away from you, and the wound must be on his front side.

You're snapped out of your thoughts by the sudden quiet. Echos of the phone's ringing linger in your head, though. No chance to find out who was calling now.

Glancing around the room, you notice a certain "low rent" quality to it. Broken plaster in the walls, water damage in the ceiling from leaks, and an air of general decrepitude only heighten the feeling.

Thinking to look around a bit, you slid to the end of the bed and put your feet onto the floor. You think to yourself that you'll want to find some clothing before you go far, as you're clad only in briefs and a white undershirt. As you pause with your bare feet on the cool wooden floor, you note something unusual in the air. It smells very faintly of the sea, or of a more general fishy smell. You're not sure why, but it seems that the smell must have been greater before and is diminishing slowly. Looking around for anything that might have generated this unpleastant, though now faint, stench, your eyes come to what looks like a drying, or very near dry, trail of water, leading from near the corpse's feet to the closed door of the small room, and presumably beyond.

You also notice what appears to be a pile of clothing tossed casually in a corner. Perhaps it's your size.

Search the body for clues about the water trail and the fishy smell.
Put on the clothes and follow the water trail out of the room.
